So it's not often that I write about any games I play, but I started playing a new MMO, (well new to me) and wanted to let everyone know what my thoughts were regarding it.

The game is a browser based Real Time Strategy (RTS) game called EVONY. (www.evony.com/index.do) At first appearance, the game quickly reminded me of other RTS games like civilization, but after a couple of weeks I have found the game is so full of various nuances and strategies that I'm hooked! Since the game is browser based, it runs easilly in the background, and I can have the game running whilst I'm doing whatever other computer work I need to. A definite plus!

Now, as for game play, things are pretty simple to figure out. Cottages allow for higher population; sawmills, mines, farms, and quarries provide you with resources; and you use barracks to get troops. You increae the rankings of each building to improve its production. The higher the level building or troop you wish to construct the longer it takes to build, which allows you to walk away from the game and not have to spend countless hours foccusing on game play. Now the strategy comes in when deciding what you want to build since you are only allowed to have one building being constructed at a time. This forces players to use a little forthought and plan out their cities in advance.

The MMO aspect comes in when you go to the world view and look at all the cities surrounding you. Some are NPC towns (Non Player Character) which are completely nuetral. You can attempt to attack them, but my suggestion is leaving them alone till you've had some time to build up. The other players towns can either be helpful, or a hinderance to you. The first thing I suggest is getting into an Alliance near you. Your Alliance gives you an immediate group of people who can help you out with resources, or defense if your city falls under attack.

After you've built up a decent city with enough troops and defenses, you can start raiding other cities. Successful attacks allow you to raid other cities of their resources, and if completed enough times, you can actually take over enemy cities claiming them for yourself.

There are so many other different aspects to this game such as heroes, the daily wheel spin, and game coins, that there could be pages dedicated to each subject and strategies to employ. Fortunately, there is an Evony Wiki located at theevonywiki.com/index.php/Main_Page. Ultimately, I give this game an 8 out of 10 as free MMO's go, and suggest that everyone give it a try. You have the ability to play a game without having to spend every moment of your life on it. If you want to play with me, look me up on Server 87. Alright, with only 4 days till I tie the knot, things are starting to get hectic. No matter how much pre-planning has gone into this thing, there are still a million last minutes that keep popping up. Now I know why traditionally, the male just steps back and lets the woman have at - this is stressful work!!!

For all those of you who RSVP'd yes, my Fiance has already stated that a no show will equal a very painful and untimely demise for you. (At $60 a plate, I understand her frustration.) Please show up at The Mission Inn by 12:30, and park in the self park area. We'll be giving everyone parking vouchers, so don't worry about the $5. If you park Vallet, you're on your own.

Alright, as of Friday, October 29th I'm going to be completely without a computer save what little time I will have at work over the next few months. Anyone out there know where I can pick one up very cheap, or who would be willing to donate one to me? Not only will I be without Net and e-mail access, but I have found a new Crack known as World of Warcraft. I know I'll need to get some upgrades, but without a base CPU to start, a good VC won't do much. Thanks guys and gals!

Okay, this movie showed no interest to me, until I read the catch phrase. I might just have to see it now....

I realized that I haven't posted any updates recently, so here goes one:

Well, life is finally starting to calm down a bit. (He says in a sarcastic tone) The wedding is less than 2 months off, so nerves are a little high. Not only that, but Northern Renesaince Faire starts in 2 weeks. To top it all off, I need to pack and move by the end of next month.

This is going to be a very rough next couple of months. I only hope I'll have friends to go get drunk with over the next few weeks to help me keep my sanity and fun loving side from being completely devoured by this villain we call life.

Thank you to everyone who has been there for me, and is still there to hang out. I know I'm not the most available individual lately, but after October, I promise things will be going better and you will all be able to see me, and hopefully get to hang out at my new appartment.

Till then everyone, know that I"m not dead, I appreciate your calls and desire to hang out, and I do miss everyone! See ya all around!
